The six best footjob positions

The right position decides whether your legs give out after two minutes or you can keep going as long as you like. These six positions are comfortable, easy to set up and work for most bodies.

What makes a good position?

Three things: your back is supported, your knees are bent, and your partner is at the right distance so your soles meet them naturally. If you have to hold your legs up with your thigh muscles, it's the wrong position.

All six positions are illustrated in the guide.

1. The Classic

You sit against the headboard with pillows behind you; your partner lies on their back between your legs. Easy, intimate and lets you see each other's faces. Best for: beginners.

2. Thigh High

Your partner sits up and you rest your legs over their thighs. The distance is short, so you barely need to lift your legs. Best for: slower, closer sessions.

3. The Lounge

You lie back fully, head on a pillow, while your partner kneels at the foot of the bed. Your feet do the work while the rest of you relaxes. Best for: longer sessions.

4. The Sofa Drape

You recline on the sofa; your partner sits on the floor or on a cushion in front of you. Great for a spontaneous moment on movie night. Best for: teasing.

5. The Throne

You sit upright on a chair or the edge of the bed, your partner kneels or sits in front of you. A naturally dominant angle. Best for: power play and foot worship.

6. The Reverse

You face away from your partner and work with your heels and soles from behind. It needs a little more flexibility but gives a very different sensation and view. Best for: experienced couples.

Extra stability tip

In reclined positions, hold the backs of your knees with your hands. It takes the weight off your hip flexors and gives you much more control over the movement.

Which one first?

Start with The Classic or The Sofa Drape. Once you're comfortable, try moving between positions mid-session. Then combine them with the moves from our footjob techniques guide.
